Dear Krish,
Isn’t it amazing how easily you are learning and perfecting these exercises. Nice to hear you say this pattern in the correct rhythm and see you use the correct syllables for every fruit. Try out all the other ones too please that ms mridangam told us.
Do you think you will be able to make your own sentences in Ms Mridangam’s language too?
Here are some yummy fruits Tootly sends for you! πŸπŸŽπŸπŸ‹πŸ‰πŸ‡πŸ

Dear Parent,

We hope the children are enjoying this discovery of new aspects and new styles of music. Using rhythm motifs like these is an art, and is well known in South Indian music as β€˜Konokkol’. For our limited use, it is an extremely useful tool to learn and internalise rhythm, even with all the twists and turns inherent in the pattern.

Krish has done the exercise well and grasped the concept clearly. When he is singing it, he’s changing the rhythm a bit. Whether its a long word (like custard apple or takadimi) or a short one, like tam/ pear – we need to give it the same space. Listen keenly to Tootly and copy.

Look forward to hearing more from him. πŸ™‚
