We’re so happy that you are on your way to completing the first course. Great job with starting a new hobby that you will hopefully continue to enjoy and nurture. I see you’ve sung well! Do see our notes below to get even better. Keep up the good work and here are mountains that Tootly sends for you! 🏔️🏔️🏔️

Dear Parent,

This vocal exercise is part of the set that all students of classical music learn. Once the first stage of expanding the voice range, getting stability while singing, and being able to sing with ease in different directions is achieved, students move on to exercises created by jumping notes like these. Think of them like training exercises for their voices.
In this particular song, we are checking a few things: if students can jump and land correctly. Just like coming down a slope, the downward pattern is even more difficult and tests if the students have begun to create mind-maps of the notes.

Please also see our point-wise feedback below (based on needs work/ good/ excellent):

Confidence and Independence – excellent
Understanding of the concept or exercise – excellent
Singing/ Pitching – good, needs some work
Rhythm – good
Overall control (volume, breath etc) – good
Pronunciation/ recollection of lyrics – excellent

Notes: Yes, this is a tough exercise so we’re happy Vidit could attempt it independently. Vidit has understood the concept correcrly, but a bit more fine tuning in the notes would be good. So Keep practising/ recording in a lead-follow fashion (with the backing voiceover), since you have understood the concept well.

Aim to start singing on your own in a few practices – for this, start listening to 2 at a time (instead of 1) phrase, then 3 at a time and so on.

You’re in the final stretch of Course 1 – so keep up the pace. You will also get a Course Completion Certificate soon.
Hope you enjoy the last few lessons of Course 1. Ask us details of Course 2 if you’d like to continue your musical journey with more fun, more lessons and take the hobby forward.
